Concept of lading page is more
suitable to Adwords than Organic SEO. Landing page is a dedicated page,
particularly used to attract the visitors by presenting the product in
informative and attractive manner.
v While conducting an adwords campaign,
one will know in advance (Before starting with Adwords campaign) which page
should be the landing page and he/she will start building that page to match
the necessary requirements.
v Since, in organic SEO you cannot
possibly know the lading page in advance (Before starting with free campaign),
we need to adapt the reciprocal concept from adwords.
v This means, we can identify the
landing page in organic SEO only after optimizing the website to some extent (not
in advance, where as in Adwords we can select the page in advance).
v With the help of Google analytics we
have to identify the page that has high CTR (Click through rate – indicates
visitor’s interest in your site) with Poor SERP position and that could be our
landing page in organic SEO campaign.
Why choose a page with high CTR and poor SERP position? Why not just a
page with high CTR?
v One can easily understand that, the
page in good SERP position will more likely receives more clicks compare to a
page in poor SERP position. But the page with poor SERP position receives more
clicks, only if visitors finds out really something interesting or attractive
about that page.
v So by closely observing such things
one can find out which page could be the landing page for his site. Once after
finding out your landing page increase your preference to that page and start
promoting it more.
Common thing that Landing page shares with both Adwords and organic
SEO
In both the cases, landing page serves end users’ interest. The only
difference is its formation. In Adwords, one will know in advance (before
starting the Adwords campaign) that which page of his site should be the
landing page. Where as in organic SEO you cannot possibly know the landing page
until you optimize (you can say promote) the site to at least some extent.
